'Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie' Exceeds Fan Donation Goal

James Rolfe, better known by his online alias, 'the Angry Video Game Nerd,' has done it.  Rolfe raised $325,927 of his $75,000 goal on IndieGoGo, a site that allows artists to fund projects by offering gifts based on the donation amount.  In this case, the donation amounts ranged from $10 for a personal message from the film's protagonist, to $1,000 for a background part in the film (this was a limited gift offer, and was later removed.)

On his website, Rolfe and friends make a series of original films and video reviews based around the video game and film industries.  His biggest success is the 'Angry Video Game Nerd' character, who has a basement filled wall to wall with video games and memorabilia from the 1970's to the present.  In each episode, "the Nerd" plays a classic video game that has not aged well, which leads the character to curse and often destroy the game.

After over 100 episodes, Rolfe decided to come forward with several years of plans to make a feature film adaptation of the character.  The film, he has stated in videos on the above site, will bring his character out of the basement and on a quest to find a landfill full of Atari's notoriously bad, E.T. The Videogame.

Below is a normal episode of Angry Video Game Nerd.
